Even on a less-than-ideal evening, weather-wise, the Hyatt Centric's rooftop bar, Aire (100 W. Monroe St., Loop, 312-236-1234) makes a good first impression. Thanks to skyline views and office-building adjacencies, expect it to be slammed all through the summer.
That view deserves multiple shout-outs, as the deck has great vistas to the east, south, and west. You can take it in from couches and chairs surrounding fire pits, a layout tailor-made for after-work confabs. After these photos were taken, a canopy went up over part of the space so it's a little more suited for weather emergencies, but for the most part, it's ideal for sunning yourself while sipping one of five beers on tap.
