Snow Dragon Shavery has brought its line of shaved snow dessert treats to Navy Pier’s renovated food court.

The store, which opened Sunday, is the third location for Snow Dragon Shavery, which can be found in Lincoln Park at 2618 N. Clark St., and in Evanston at 809 Davis St. The Taiwanese-style frozen treats feature flavored shaved ice topped with fruit, jellies, candy and other toppings.

Taro has been the company’s most popular topping, said co-owner Farhad Meghani. He said the Navy Pier location will offer the shaved snow, macarons, macaron ice cream sandwiches, bubble teas and coconut water in the shell. (The frozen yogurt found at the other locations will not be at Navy Pier, Meghani said.)

Snow Dragon Shavery is the latest food attraction added to Navy Pier, which observes its 100th anniversary this year. Other recently announced spots include Original Rainbow Cone (the opening date is now May 14) and Tiny Tavern (an offshoot of The Tiny Lounge in North Center, coming later in the spring). The effort to introduce new restaurants is part of the Navy Pier centennial celebration. They join other recently added spots including Porkchop, DMK Burger and Fish Bar, Goddess and the Baker, and Big City Chicken.

Meghani said Navy Pier is an “ideal location” for Snow Dragon Shavery because it draws an international assortment of visitors. “Everyone is there,” he said. “There’s no bettery place to showcase the product than Navy Pier.”
