Not that you needed another reason to go to the excellent new ArcLight Cinemas in Lincoln Park (seriously, if you haven’t been over to the NewCity complex and all its restaurants, you’re missing out), but today the theater announced that this month will launch its Second City Wednesdays screening series.
What does that mean? It means that classic comedies will screen once per month, and after each screening will be a Q&A with folks involved in Second City. Even if you don’t know those people by name, it’s a great chance to talk about comedy with people who actually do it professionally, not to mention an opportunity to see movies in a theater that are normally screened only on your couch. The series kicks off March 9 with “Planes, Trains and Automobiles” (with Tyler Alexander, Second City’s Vice President of Brand & Marketing, and Billy Bungeroth, Second City Artistic Director and Head Writer), and on April 13 it’s the far more fetch selection of “Mean Girls” (with Second City alumn Molly Cavanaugh).
