The Bulls organization’s new D-League team in Hoffman Estates has an official name:
The Windy City Bulls.
Along with the name, the team unveiled a pair of logos Wednesday at Eisenhower Junior High School in Hoffman Estates. One of the logos features a Bull head profile affixed in a cutout of the state of Illinois. The Windy City Bulls will play their home games at the Sears Centre beginning with the 2016-17 season.
Other finalists for the name were the Great Lakes Bulls and the Heartland Bulls.
“Windy City Bulls emerged as a fan favorite during our ‘Name the Team’ campaign earlier this season, and we thank the thousands of fans who helped us select a name that creates a strong connection to the region, reflects our civic pride, and extends the reach of the Bulls brand,” Bulls President and COO Michael Reinsdorf said in a statement.
