With all the issues Kanye West is having lately—his reported $53 million in debt, for starters—minor-league hockey should be the last thing on his mind.

So to some, it was confusing when the Chicago rapper tweeted, “Ima fix wolves” on Sunday.

Which is what makes the Wolves’ response so perfect.

As of Tuesday afternoon, the tweet had almost 800 responses, more than 1,000 retweets and upward of 1,500 likes. Anna Fogel, the team’s social media coordinator and the genius behind the Wolves’ tweet, said it definitely is the most attention one tweet from the team has received.

“Our goal is to be as engaging and as entertaining as possible, and quite honestly Kanye set us up perfectly,” Fogel said.

“We have revamped our entire social strategy to only revolve around Kanye from here on out. Just kidding. … Our second-most popular tweet was of a postgame graphic and recap of a Chicago Wolves win.”

Of course, West was in fact referring to one of the tracks on his new album, “The Life of Pablo,” which has been drenched in drama for years now.

The Wolves’ primary drama, meanwhile, lies in trying to secure a playoff spot; they’re six points out of the last slot in the AHL Central Division with 27 games remaining in the regular season.

“That’s pretty funny,” forward Danny Kristo, who shares the team lead in goals with 17, said of the Wolves’ tweet. “I’m not a huge Kanye fan, but it’s kind of cool that we gave it back to him a little bit.”

Defenseman Scooter Vaughan, who became a West fan in 2004 when “College Dropout” was released, was more philosophical.

“If a man can be Yeezus, he can obviously be a wolf,” Vaughan said. “It’s self-proclaimed, but who am I to judge?”

If West wants to become a Wolves fan, the team would welcome the support. They begin a four-game home stand starting Thursday night at Allstate Arena.
