Police said a Wilmette man was charged with criminal predatory sexual assault and aggravated criminal sexual abuse Thursday in a case that allegedly took place over an approximately two-year period.
Edmund H. Glueck, 49, of the 100 block of Woodbine Avenue, was arrested Feb. 10 and charged the following day, according to a Wilmette police report.
Police said the girl Glueck is accused of abusing was the child of family friends. The alleged incidents took place between the time the girl was 11 and 13, Wilmette Police Chief Brian King said Friday.

The arrest took place after police, armed with search warrants, seized what the report stated was electronic media from Glueck’s home. Investigators are searching through the seizures, police stated.
Police said none of the incidents for which Glueck was charged took place at a school or in conjunction with any school activity.
The written report also said that “there does not appear to be more than one victim at this time.”
A judge issued a $200,000 bond for Glueck, according to police. As of Feb. 12, he was still being held at Cook County Jail, according to information from the Cook County Sheriff’s office. He has a Feb. 26 court date in Cook County Court, Skokie, the police report said.
