Letter: Boycott businesses that don’t shovel sidewalks in winter

Several local Glenview businesses refuse to shovel the sidewalks in front of their establishments, despite heavy foot traffic. The negligent actions of these merchants compromise the safety of their customers, as well as other pedestrians. The sidewalks become an uneven terrain of icy blocks.

In the most egregious case, the Citgo station on Waukegan near East Lake Avenue actually erected snow barricades, forcing pedestrians onto Waukegan Road. I encourage Glenview residents to avoid these businesses until they can become better neighbors.
