Mobile health: The mobile health unit from Rosalind Franklin University will be on-site from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Thursday. Free health screenings include blood pressure, fasting blood sugar, cholesterol, body mass and waist measurement. All screenings are available on a first-come, first-served basis.

Writing workshop: Bestselling author Rebecca Johns will offer help to fellow writers from 9:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Jan. 9. Explore the dark side of writing with this workshop entitled “Psychos, Stalkers and She-Devils: Using Bad Characters to Create Good Fiction.” Registration required.

Survey: The biennial Patron Satisfaction Survey will be open Monday through April 1. The survey will be available online and will take approximately 15 minutes to complete.
