The 5 best songs of the week, featuring Malcolm London, Chance the Rapper, YG, Taylor Bennett and Damien Jurado. This feature will be on hiatus until 2016. Happy holidays, folks.

5. Malcolm London, “Uncle Been”

22-year-old activist Malcolm London drops some truth-telling in his latest song “Uncle Been.” Like in his protest and charity work, the Chicago native, who calls the West Side home, is concerned with the intersection of race, justice and authority where he raps the chilling line, “With great power, comes the government.”

4. Taylor Bennett feat. King Louie, Joey Purp, “Favorite Drink”

There’s so much to love with Taylor Bennett’s brand new album “Broad Shoulders.” While, of course, people are going to place sky-high expectations on the 19-year-old rapper because he’s Chance the Rapper’s little brother, but on this project, he shrugs it off and does his thing so well. Chicago party on highlight “Favorite Drink” with drill icon King Louie and Savemoney’s Joey Purp.

3. YG, “I Wanna Benz”

With his 2014 album “My Krazy Life,” YG placed himself at the epicenter of West Coast rap. He’s back and his new-Nipsey Hussle and 50 Cent-featuring single doesn’t a change a thing to his gritty, winning formula.

2. Damien Jurado, “Exit 353”

Singer-songwriter Damien Jurado has always pushed the limits of folk. While he has a bunch of straightforward acoustic guitar guy fare in his catalog, his recent output has been considerably weirder and more experimental. His latest track “Exit 353” feels like road trip music for the bleary-eyed and on edge. That’s the best description I can muster for the swirl of hazy fuzz and silky falsetto found within the song.

1. Chance the Rapper, “Somewhere in Paradise”

Debuted on “Saturday Night Live” and features Jeremih and R. Kelly. Enough said. It’s great.
