Aurora police said a 28-year-old man was drunk when his vehicle struck several parked vehicles and then crashed into a home on Pearl Street.
Aurora police were called to the area of Pearl Street and Parker Avenue around 1:38 a.m. Friday for reports of an accident that had just occurred. While en route, officers learned that a truck had apparently struck several parked cars and a home before coming to a stop with the driver inside.
When police arrived, they met with the vehicle’s driver, Jesus Guerrero, 900 block of Lafayette Street, Aurora. Officers said in their report that Guerrero’s eyes were red and glassy and he smelled of alcohol.
Police said Guerrero admitted to drinking between seven and eight beers before getting behind the wheel. He also said he had taken prescription medication, police wrote.
Guerrero told police that a car had blown a stop sign and caused him to swerve, striking a parked vehicle, which caused a chain-reaction crash. When all was said and done, four vehicles, and the lawn, fence, front step and front corner of a home in the 1000 block of Pearl Street were damaged, police said.
Guerrero was charged with drunken driving, improper lane usage, failure to reduce speed to avoid an accident and driving on a revoked license, police said.
