I have written to my elected representatives and to Gov. Bruce Rauner to ask that Illinois find a compromise on the state’s budget. Gov. Rauner’s reply to my letter said “be patient.” My patience is gone.

Like all Illinois residents, I continue to pay my taxes – motor fuel tax, sales tax, income tax – to Illinois. Where is all this money going? For months, my village and other municipalities in Illinois haven’t received any of this money, even though the state has continued to collect it.

Why? No budget.

Please, elected officials, do your job.
