“Jurassic World” star Judy Greer is set to make her feature directorial debut with a movie starring Chicago rapper Common and “Mom” lead Allison Janney, Entertainment Weekly is reporting.
“A Happening of Monumental Proportions” is a Los Angeles-set dramedy about “sex, lies and dead bodies,” according to EW. Greer, who attended DePaul University, directed a short film last year for AOL about meditation.
Her show “Married” was canceled last month by the FX network after two seasons. She’s slated to star in the upcoming movie “Measure of a Man.”
Common, who grew up on the South Side, has been working on a Chicago-set pilot for Showtime. He has also roles in the upcoming movies “Suicide Squad” and “John Wick 2.”
Shooting on “A Happening of Monumental Proportions” is expected to begin in Los Angeles in January.
