Because so many nonprofits are having to rely on donors to meet demand for services, it seems especially fitting to offer a public thank you to the local individuals and businesses that once again have stepped up to give to a local charity.
On Oct. 16, at the “Fallin’ for Our Stars” event held at Oak Park’s historic Cheney Mansion, the West Suburban Special Recreation Foundation received donations from generous individuals and groups who are committed to making the lives of local children with disabilities richer.
We appreciate the sponsors of the Oct. 16 fundraiser:
Park District of Oak Park, Village of Franklin Park, Good Heart Work Smart Foundation, Park District of Forest Park, Affordable Backyard Tents, Craft Jack, Village of Forest Park, Jos. Mullarkey Distributors Inc., D’Aprile Properties, Democratic Party of Oak Park, Forest Park National Bank, The Smollen Family, Mohr Oil Co., Right at Home, River Forest Park District and Lagunitas Brewing Co.
Oak Park and River Forest volunteer chairpersons Lisa Masucci, Margaret O’Rourke, Beth Kaplan, Karen Mullarkey Kerrins and Lisa Shanahan worked tirelessly to welcome 100 registered guests. The talented Oak Park River Forest High School Jazz Trio, “Two Percent Jams,” provided a musical score for the evening to rave reviews. Our guests won fabulous prizes from Oak Park and surrounding area small businesses.
WSSRA is proud to be a part of a dynamic and generous community that exists in OPRF!
