The football game between Barrington and Wheeling on Friday, Sept. 18, was postponed late in the first quarter due to lightning. The game will be moved from Wheeling to Hersey on Saturday at 1:30 p.m. Barrington is leading 14-7.

Wheeling (0-3) shocked undefeated Barrington (3-0) early, as junior defensive back Jason Shannon picked off Broncos senior quarterback Johnny Davidson on the first offensive series and returned the interception 38 yards down the sidelines for the score.

Barrington responded by scoring on its next two possessions, as Davidson (28 yards rushing) found the end zone on a 6-yard run on fourth and 1, followed by a 1-yard sneak into the end zone. When play was halted, Wheeling had a first down at the Barrington 48-yard line with 1:25 remaining in the opening quarter.

Barrington’s offense totaled 97 yards, while Wheeling had just 20.
