A man who robbed a Lakeview bank Thursday afternoon is suspected of robbing a North Center bank Friday, authorities said.

The man, believed to be 25 to 35 years old, robbed the bank at 3335 N. Ashland Ave., said Diana Carbonara, a spokeswoman for the FBI’s Chicago office. A Chase Bank branch is at that location.

The man robbed the bank about 4 p.m., handing a teller a note but neither displaying a gun nor implying that he had one, said Officer Nicole Trainor, a Chicago police spokeswoman. The man took cash and fled, Trainor said.

The man also is believed to have robbed a PNC Bank branch at 4201 N. Lincoln Ave. about 2:25 p.m. Friday, according to the FBI’s BanditTracker website.

The man is described as white, about 6-foot-1, and weighing 180 to 210 pounds. He was wearing a plaid, short-sleeved, collared shirt and a dark baseball cap.

Anyone with information on the robber is asked to call the Chicago office of the FBI at 312-421-6700.
