A 22-year-old Aurora man has been identified as the victim of a fatal motorcycle crash Tuesday evening in Aurora.
Aurora police said Christopher Gonzalez, 1500 block of Lincolnshire Avenue, was riding his 2004 Kawasaki motorcycle eastbound in the 1400 block of Sequoia Drive around 6:35 p.m. when the crash occurred.
According to Aurora Police Department spokesman Dan Ferrelli, Gonzalez was about one-quarter mile west of Randall Road when his motorcycle crashed into a semi-tractor trailer.
Ferrelli said Gonzalez was driving at a high speed when he failed to stop in time to avoid running into the 2015 Freightliner.
The Freightliner was also traveling eastbound and was turning left into the driveway of a business when it was struck by Gonzalez’s motorcycle.

Gonzalez was wearing a helmet at the time of the crash, but suffered massive head injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene.
The 41-year-old truck driver from Geneva was not ticketed or injured.
Ferrelli said there were no signs of alcohol or drug use in connection with the crash.
Sequoia Drive between Randall Road and Edgelawn Drive was closed for about four hours while Aurora police traffic investigators reconstructed the crash.
Because a commercial vehicle was involved, the Illinois State Police is assisting in the investigation, Ferrelli said.
