A Boulder Hill woman reported that she and her child were inside their home Friday morning when a man allegedly came inside and stole a wallet.

Kendall County Sheriff’s Department deputies said the call came in around 11 a.m. when a woman in the 100 block of Boulder Hill Pass in an unincorporated area near Montgomery reported that someone came inside her home, stole a wallet containing cash and credit cards, and then made it back out of the house without being noticed.

When she realized her wallet was missing, deputies said the woman called 911. Deputies responded and learned that the stolen credit cards had recently been used numerous times within the Aurora area shortly after the theft was reported.

Because the purchases were happening in Aurora’s jurisdiction, Aurora police began to assist and look into where the cards were being used. Within five hours of the cards being reported missing, police had identified Charles Brackenridge, 33, of Aurora, as a suspect and he was taken into custody. Deputies said the stolen credit cards and wallet were recovered during the investigation.

The Kendall County State’s Attorney’s Office charged Brackenridge with residential burglary, a Class 1 felony.
