Aurora Police Department spokesman Dan Ferrelli said one shooting occurred around 6:15 p.m. July 12 in the 1000 block of Kane Street.
According to Ferrelli, two 20-year-old men and a 20-year-old woman were inside a vehicle traveling westbound on Kane Street when a man jumped out from behind a pickup truck parked on the block and began to shoot in their direction.
Ferrelli said the vehicle was struck by bullets several times, but no one inside it was injured. The suspect was only described as a black man with braids.
On July 17, around 10 p.m., police investigated a shooting in the area of Bevier Place and Clark Street.
Ferrelli said that based on evidence found at the scene and according to witness descriptions, it appears that at least two men began firing during the incident. The shooters were probably standing in the 500 block of Clark Street and in a parking lot at Clark Street and Bevier Place, police said. It is unknown if they ran away or drove off in a vehicle after the shooting.
Ferrelli said a home in the 500 block of East Benton Street and a tree in the 500 block of Clark Street were struck with bullets.
