Stevenson has hired a familiar name to lead its girls basketball program.
Former Prospect coach Ashley Graham is the new Patriots coach. She replaces Tom Dineen, whose contract was not renewed in March after six seasons.
From 2009-12, Graham served as an assistant girls basketball coach at Stevenson.
“We’re very excited to welcome Ashley Graham back to the Stevenson girls basketball program,” Stevenson athletic director Tricia Betthauser said in a press release. “She’s a talented and energetic professional who will have a positive impact on our student-athletes.”
Graham finished with a 64-22 record in three seasons with Prospect. The Knights won 26 games last season, making an appearance in the Mid-Suburban League title game and winning a Class 4A regional championship. In 2013-14, Prospect finished 23-6. The consecutive 20-win seasons were the school’s first in more than a decade.
Graham was a three-time all-state player at Buffalo Grove, where she was coached by Dineen. She graduated in 2004 and played college basketball at Illinois State.
The 29-year-old Graham takes over a Stevenson program that finished 12-0 in the North Suburban Conference in 2014-15 and lost to Buffalo Grove in a Class 4A regional final.
