A June trial date has been set for a Long Grove man charged with multiple felonies resulting from a September 2013 crash killed a 47-year-old woman.
The new trial date of June 15 came at the request of Stephen Tomczyk’s defense attorney, Eric Rinehart, on Thursday after plea negotiations appeared to have fallen apart.
Assistant State’s Attorney Ryan Koehl said in court Thursday that no progress had been made in the case and Rinehart concurred.

Tomczyk’s next court hearing was then scheduled for May 7.
Last fall, Tomczyk, 22, rejected initial plea deal offers from the Lake County State’s Attorney’s Office.
Tomczyk is charged with six counts reckless homicide, three counts of aggravated driving under the influence of drugs resulting in death and three counts of aggravated DUI resulting in death connected with a crash that killed Jeewon Kim of Buffalo Grove.
If convicted of the charges at trial, Judge Mark Levitt said Tomczyk could receive up to 14 years on the aggravated DUI charges and two to five years for reckless homicide, as well as additional sentencing ranges for lesser charges.
According to authorities, Tomczyk was involved in a Sept. 5, 2013 crash on Route 83 in Long Grove. The other car was driven by Kim, who was pronounced dead at the scene. A female passenger in her vehicle sustained serious injuries but survived.
Tomczyk is being held in Lake County Jail in lieu of $500,000 bail.
