Newcomers Richard Moore and Barbara A. Hickey will join incumbent Ralph Martire on the River Forest District 90 School Board.
With all precincts reporting, unofficial results showed Richard Moore as the big winner of the day, winning 32 percent of all votes cast.
“I am so happy for all of the support that people have shown, and I am very humbled and honored to be elected to the D90 board of education,” he said.
Moore said he believes his experience as an educator, parent and student will come together to inform his decisions as a District 90 trustee.
“I believe that having 20 years of experience in education and being the parent of three students in District 90 as well as working at the doctoral level in teacher leadership I think will all coalesce to make informed decisions,” he said.
At 31 percent, Martire had the second-highest number of votes. Hickey came in third with 29 percent of the votes. Harley Beck came in fourth with 7 percent of the vote.
Martire and Hickey could not be reached for comment Tuesday evening.
