Elmwood Park Village Board incumbents likely to keep seats

Three Elmwood Park Village Board incumbents appeared to hold onto their seats in Tuesday night’s election.

Alan Kaminski had 30 percent of the vote, Angela Stranges had 29 percent of the vote, and Jonathan Zivojnovic had 28 percent of the vote with 15 of 15 precincts reporting in unofficial results April 7.

Newcomer Colm Mitchell had 12 percent of the vote.

For Zivojnovic, who ran with the other incumbents under the banner of the Citizens United Party, it will be his first full term after being appointed to the seat in April 2014.

“I want to thank everyone for all their support,” he said. “We will continue work hard to make sure Elmwood Park makes a step ahead in the right direction.”
