Isaiah F. Hernandez, 18, of the 7800 block of West Cressett Drive, was arrested by Elmwood Park police and charged with manufacturing and delivery of marijuana, possession of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia.
Police Cmdr. Robert Klisz said several complaints from neighbors were received about alleged drug sales at Hernandez’s home. He said detectives had been working on the case since January.
“We did surveillance, and after developing enough information and intelligence in regards to drug activity there, we obtained a search warrant for his residence,” Klisz said. “Concerned citizens had been calling and had seen a lot of traffic in the area.”
Hernandez was in front of the house playing catch with another person when police arrested him, Klisz said.
Police found 35 grams of marijuana, a digital scale, packaging material and drug paraphernalia in his home, Klisz said.
Police Chief Frank Fagiano credited the department for a job well done.
“It was a good collaborative effort between detectives and patrol officers,” he said.
Hernandez is next scheduled to appear in court March 25.
