If you’re brave enough to stay outside longer than five minutes in the freezing cold and want to go ice skating, you have one option.

All the eight outdoor Chicago Park District rinks, including the Maggie Daley Park ice ribbon are closed on Thursday due to the extreme weather, officials said.

But the McCormick Tribune ice rink at Millennium Park is open and has regular hours so it’ll be open until 8 p.m. on Thursday.

Ice skating rinks weren’t the only places shuttered because of the cold.

The weather forecast prompted officials to cancel classes in the Chicago Public Schools system. Several suburban districts also either canceled classes or announced a later starting time to avoid the brunt of the cold.

Chicago saw a record low on Thursday: Around daybreak, the temperature at O’Hare International Airport dropped to 8 below, beating the previous record of 7 below for this date set in 1936.
