A Friday evening fire destroyed a two-story commercial building at the marina in Cedar Lake.
Firefighters arrived at Northpoint Marina, 13245 Grimm St., at 7:43 p.m. to find the building, where the marina’s offices were located, fully engulfed in flames, Cedar Lake Assistant Fire Chief Nick Mager said Friday night. They were able to draft water out of Cedar Lake to contain the fire and got it under control in 45 minutes.
The building was unoccupied and no boats were at the building, Mager said. No injuries were reported.
Mager said the fire is under investigation and that damage estimates will be made Monday.
