The gun was a plastic toy replica of a Beretta semiautomatic handgun, he said.
“It looks like a real gun, all black,” Fazekas said.
Daeshanea Montgomery, 20, and her brother, Anthony Montgomery, 19, both Glen Park residents, are in custody pending robbery charges.
Two teenage runaways who were in the car were released to juvenile authorities, Fazekas said.
About 9 p.m. Dwayne Walker, 41, left an apartment in Dorie Miller Housing Development and was walking to his car when a man with a gun demanded his cash, police said. A witness called with a description of the car — a black Dodge with four occupants — and Sgt. Mario Gonzalez saw the car near Harrison Street, the arrest report states.
The driver, Daeshanea Montgomery, stopped the car near 11th Avenue and Van Buren Street. Sgt. Gregory Wolf and Patrolmen Thomas Aguilar and J.C. Johnson assisted in the apprehension of the four suspects, Fazekas said.
