A 16-year-old boy was shot in a thigh in Franklin Park at the end of January, police say.
The boy was standing near a stop sign with two other people near the intersection of Prairie Street and Schiller Blvd at about 7:15 p.m. Jan. 28, police say. Then, a car pulled up.
“There was a brief conversation between the driver and one of the people with the victim,” said Commander Michael Konwinski. “The one of the occupants from the vehicle pulled out a gun and then shot in their direction. Then the driver is off east on Schiller.”
The boy was shot in his upper right thigh. He was taken to Gottlieb Hospital, where he was treated and released.
Police were still investigating the incident on Feb. 9.
