You just can’t keep a couple of schemers from doing what comes naturally. In the epic trailer for Season 5 of HBO’s “Game of Thrones,” Lord Varys (Conleth Hill) and Tyrion Lannister (Peter Dinklage) are plotting the future of the Seven Kingdoms.
(Watch the trailer below.)
HBO showed its official Season 5 trailer at screenings of a pair of Season 4 episodes in IMAX theaters. The network had to post the clip on its GoT Facebook pages after a pirated version filmed at one of those screenings appeared online. The network also dropped several photos from the new season, which begins April 12.
The epic trailer includes a telling conversation between Varys and Tyrion, both of whom have fled King’s Landing after Tyrion escaped his own execution and managed to execute a few of the people who wronged him.
Varys seems to be recruiting the dwarf to help him find a new ruler for Westeros after Tyrion says, “I will never sit upon the Iron Throne.”
“The Seven Kingdoms needs a ruler loved by millions with a powerful army and the right family name,” Varys says.
“Good luck finding him,” replies Tyrion.

“Who said anything about him?” Varys responds.
We then see Daenerys Targaryen (Emilia Clarke) and one of her fire-breathing dragons.
The thrilling trailer also teases characters old and new, some plotting, some seeking revenge, some issuing frightening warnings.
The network also offered up photos from the new season of old and new characters. Take a look and tell me, can you wait until April 12?
