The Morton Grove Park District’s executive director, Tracey Anderson, has resigned.

Her sudden departure came as the third in a series of short tenures and unexpected departures of administrators in the past three years.

Park District Human Resources Manager Laura Kee said Tuesday, Jan. 27 that Anderson had resigned.

Anderson said during a press interview Jan. 16 that the district had tried about 150 new recreational programs since she started in May 2013. She worked at the district for one year and eight months.

Anderson’s predecessor as executive director, Brian Sullivan, had a similarly short tenure, from April 2010 to October 2012. Sullivan, who won the Illinois Park and Recreation Association’s Honored Professional Award in 2011, also departed suddenly without a comment or word of his future plans.

Another park district administrator, Financial Director Les Preuss, departed suddenly on August 2013, after 13 years on the job.

The executive director who served prior to Sullivan, Jeff Fougerousse, served from 2000 to 2009, according to his profile on LinkedIn.com.

The Champion attempted to contact Park Board commissioners Rusmir Zec and Betty Fergus for comment; Zec has not phoned, and Fergus declined a phone call because of a family emergency. Both have declared their candidacies for the park board in the April election.
