Over 300 hungry supporters turned out at River Grove School last Saturday morning to partake in some food in support of the school’s music program.

The River Grove School’s Concert Choir performed on Dec. 13 while people ate pancakes as part of the school’s pancake breakfast fundraiser. Money raised from the event went to support the school’s band, choir and related music programs at the school.

River Grove School Supt. Glenn Grieshaber, who manned the griddle to flip pancakes at the event, said they had about double the amount of people they had at a fundraiser in the spring.

“It went pretty well,” he said. “I’m grateful to see more people turn out than at the last one.”

He believes the performances by the students helped bring out people to the event as well.

“We had a lot of parents here because their kids were in attendance,” he said. “It’s nice to give financial support to the school’s music organization.”
