Plans are afoot to construct a new 25,000-square-foot medical facility in Plainfield that company officials say will bring together a variety of services and practices under one roof.
The new Presence Healing Arts Pavilion is being erected by Presence Health, a health system with more than 150 sites in Illinois.
Construction on the facility near Illinois Route 59 and Dayfield Drive was approved by the village board last month.
The site is expected to be ready for patients by the end of next summer, according to Presence spokeswoman Jan Ciccarelli.
It will replace an existing immediate care center on Caton Farm Road in south Plainfield and will cost $7.3 million, she said.
The new facility will include not only immediate care, but will also comprise primary care physicians, specialists, a laboratory, advance imaging, physical therapy and a coffee bar, all in a one-stop location, Ciccarelli said.
Its construction is expected to generate 130 jobs, Ciccarelli said, and the building will feature extra space for community events and educational programs.
Presence currently has physicians in two separate Plainfield locations, with imaging and immediate care at a third location, she said.
The new center will also place an emphasis on preventive care and community education, according to Ciccarelli.
“Easy access to health care, convenience, efficiency and high-quality care are what people want,” she said in a statement. “Presence recognizes the value in bringing services together in one place to address those needs … bringing all services together in one location translates to more convenience for patients.”
