Former MTV reality star turned shoe designer Kristin Cavallari stopped by Nordstrom on Michigan Avenue downtown on Saturday to showcase her fall shoe collection.

Wearing her fall must-have — beige, thigh-high boots by Kristin Cavallari for Chinese Laundry — Mrs. Jay Cutler gushed about her quarterback husband and two sons, dished about their Halloween costumes and the TV shows they watch and talked about her hands-on collaboration with the shoe company.

“This is a lot of fun for me. The fact that I’m able to call this a job is a dream come true. I’m constantly earmarking things and looking through magazines and pulling inspiration from places,” she said about designing her shoes during a quick interview with RedEye before her public appearance.

Here is an edited excerpt of the interview.

Who is your celebrity style icon?

“Kate Moss, hands down. She’s just so effortless and chic. She looks amazing running errands or dressed up at an event. She always looks great.”

On game day, how big of a family affair is it? Do you take the boys (sons Camden, age 2, and Jaxon, age 5 1/2 months)?

“I go to all the home games. Camden went to the games the first year I had him and he would literally just sleep through the entire thing because he was so little. But with two, I haven’t brought them yet. I’ll bring Camden next year. His nap is at 1 p.m. so it’s right in the middle of the game. He’s a crab without his nap so I just can’t, but I probably will next year.”

Do you have any plans to dress them up for Halloween?

“We’ll probably take Camden trick-or-treating at least in our neighborhood. … Jax is going to be a cop and Camden is going to be a jailmate.”

You have a reality TV background. Would you ever let them do reality TV?

“I would really try to steer them in a different direction. Just because — I had a ton of fun doing both the shows (Laguna Beach and The Hills) but my experience is that it ultimately ruins friendships and relationships and it can be tough at times, and I wouldn’t want that for them.”

Being on TV, a lot of people think they know who you are, and the same with your husband Jay. What’s one thing most people don’t know about you and one thing most people don’t know about Jay?

“I’d say it’s the same thing for both of us actually. Jay has a heart of gold. He’s one of the most genuine, down-to-earth good guys. It’s hard to find a really good quality guy and he’s one of them. That’s the last thing that people would probably expect from him. The one thing that people always say to me, too, is that I’m much nicer than they expected.”

What are you watching on TV these days?

“Well, we watch ‘Homeland.’ We watched ‘True Detective’ and ‘House of Cards,’ occasionally but that’s it. With a baby, you’re not sitting at home watching TV. I used to watch all the ‘Housewives.’ That used to be my trash guilty pleasure and I haven’t seen it in a long time, I miss it.”

You’re a mom, shoe and jewelry designer, E! Host of ‘Fabulist,’ what is left on the bucket list?

“I’ve been trying to produce a reality show for a while. I’ve had a few that have gotten picked up for pilots and stuff like that but haven’t gone anywhere. It’s so heartbreaking because you put so much time and energy in a show that doesn’t end up going anywhere. But I’m not going to let it discourage me … So that’s on my bucket list: I would love to have a show make it to air and be successful.”
