Northwestern’s basketball program got a huge boost Monday when it secured an oral commitment from Aaron Falzon, a four-star forward from Newton, Mass.

Falzon, who reportedly received scholarship offers from the likes of Notre Dame and Georgia, ultimately selected Northwestern over Harvard.

The a 6-foot-8, 208-pound “stretch 4” is rated by Rivals.com as the 98th best player in the country. He visited Evanston for the Oct. 4 football victory over Wisconsin, raving about his time on campus.

Falzon joins Chicago-area point guard Jordan Ash and 6-foot-7 Dererk Pardon, a sturdy ace rebounder and shot blocker, in coach Chris Collins’ freshman class for 2015-16.
