Police were holding a “person of interest” following an attempted bank robbery in Oak Park this afternoon, a village spokesman said.
The robbery attempt took place at the US Bank branch at 104 N. Oak Park Ave. at 2:17 p.m., said Dave Powers, a spokesman for the village.

Police were holding a “person of interest,” Powers said.
The FBI is investigating the attempted robbery, an FBI Chicago spokeswoman said.
