If your job brings you down, you aren’t alone.

A recent survey found that approximately 8 out of 10 Americans are stressed by at least one aspect of their jobs. The study also breaks down the source of these headaches, which ranges from a nagging boss to the daily commute.

The Work Stress Survey was spearheaded by Everest College and conducted by Harris Interactive. Wendy Cullen, vice president of employer development at Everest, said it falls in sync with Stress Awareness Month.

Cullen hopes employers will use these results to make any necessary improvements to the workplace. But, she also encourages employees to own their situation and pursue new skills if they become too unhappy.

Harris interviewed 1,004 employed adults 18 years and older. Note: When asked to name their biggest stressor, 18 percent responded with “nothing.” An additional 3 percent of respondents said “other” and 1 percent responded “don’t know” or refused.
