With the season-opener Saturday at Washington, the Chicago Sky announced its roster for the 2012 season on Wednesday.
Former DePaul star Felicia Chester-Wootton was waived to reduce the squad to 11 players. A 6-3 forward, she is the wife of Bears defensive lineman Corey Wootton.
The opening-day roster includes five newcomers: Swin Cash, Ticha Penicheiro, Ruth Riley, Le’coe Willingham and Sonja Petrovic.
The Sky finished the preseason with a 2-1 record. The home-opener is May 25 against Indiana at Allstate Arena.
“I have to make some tough decisions,” Sky coach/GM Pokey Chatman said after the team’s first preseason game. “I think everyone has been trusting in the process of training camp. They have bought in; it has been good energy. But (making cuts) is the tough part, you’ve got to do it.”
