Cris Mazza, the director of the Graduate Program for Writers at the University of Illinois at Chicago, will release her memoir, tentatively titled “Something Wrong With Her,” in 2013. The book will not follow a traditional memoir’s chronological plot line, but will consist of text wrapped around images from her old journals, letters and hand-drawn cartoons. Mazza said it will also include annotated excerpts from her novels and stories to analyze how she responded to past events. Mazza is the author of many works, including the novels “Girl Beside Him,” “Homeland” and “Waterbaby,” and a collection of essays, “Indigenous: Growing Up Californian.”

Self-published: “The Wishing Well: Our Experiences Produce a Wealth of Information” by Tami Principe and “Penny’s Picks: 50 Movies by Women Filmmakers 2002-2011,” by Jan Lisa Huttner.
