Jesus is on Twitter, and surprisingly he’s pretty down-to-earth.
“I’ve decided to ignore all the sports prayers for the night. Mostly because my teams are winning.”
Yes, Jesus, whose Twitter handle is @iJesusChrist, has quite the sense of humor. Of course, he’s not the real Jesus. At least I don’t think so. Although Twitter believers are called followers, so draw your own conclusions.
But real or not, his presence in social media is a reminder that there’s a Twitter feed for almost everything — and some of it is pretty out there.

I wonder if @iJesusChrist follows @secrettweet, which is pretty much the equivalent of a Twitter confessional. You post your secrets anonymously to secrettweet.com and they’re shared with the cyber universe.
Some of what you see on @secrettweet is funny, but some of it is really dark and clearly an escape for some people. Examples include:
– “I’ve been thinking about letting my cats ‘escape’ so we can cut $30 on our rent. hate this economy. Feel horrible.”
– “i find myself sleeping with men. I wonder what my wife would say?”
Weird, right? Well then there’s @dreamtweet, which is like @secrettweet in that it’s anonymous, but here people post their dreams.
According to the site, it’s integrated with Twitter and created for users to share their dreams and nightmares with the world.
So while you could go to a therapist to ask what it means when an octopus chases you, catches you and wraps you up with all eight tentacles, you could save a bunch of money talking about it on Twitter.
And if that’s not weird enough, you could follow @PiMPY3WASH, a washing machine that tweets whenever a load of laundry is done. But it’s not any old washing machine, it’s one belonging to TiVo senior programmer Ryan Rose, who modified the 25-year-old model to remind him not to leave the clothes in too long.
For not having much to say — all the tweets are pretty much the same, something along the lines of “laundry finished washing at: Mon Mar 30 07:47:24 2009” — the machine has more than 500 followers. So either these people are fascinated by an old washing machine that can tweet or they really care about Rose’s underwear.
