A man with close ties to several members of Sen. Barack Obama’s senate office and campaign staff, former Senate Majority Leader Tom Daschle, will campaign for the Illinois Democrat in Iowa this weekend.
Obama’s campaign said this morning that Daschle will be joined by former Oklahoma Congressman Brad Carson, and a former governor of Mississippi, Ray Mabus. The campaign said the group will “discuss why Senator Obama is the best candidate to move our country past red state and blue state divides.”
The men will appear in Des Moines for a canvass kickoff event as area supporters prepare to hit the streets to talk to Iowans about Obama in advance of the Jan. 3 caucuses.
