Glenbrook South at Maine South

What to watch: How No. 14 Glenbrook South (6-0, 2-0) defends against the precision passing attack of No. 8 Maine South (5-1, 2-0) in this Central Suburban South showdown. Maine South QB Charlie Goro, incredibly, has completed 90 of 118 passes (76 percent) for 1,382 yards and 12 TDs. Danny Benson has 49 catches for 761 yards and eight TDs, while Joey Orlando has two TD catches and two kick-return TDs. Glenbrook’s Sean Progar (6-3, 252) will try to get in Goro’s face the entire game. QB Ryan McGrath heads the Titans’ attack.
Bob Sakamoto’s pick: Maine South
Mt. Carmel at Loyola
Kickoff: 1:30 p.m. Saturday at Hoerster Field, 1100 Laramie Ave., Wilmette
What to watch: A terrific quarterback duel between Loyola’s Peter Badovinac and Mt. Carmel’s Jordan Lynch. Badovinac passed for 329 yards and three TDs in No. 9 Loyola’s upset of St. Rita last week. Lynch passed for 227 yards and a career-high four TDs in a victory over De La Salle. Will Loyola deploy its no-huddle, hurry-up passing attack or run more often with shifty Mark Harvey? No. 1 Mt. Carmel has RBs Tim Brown and Edwin Williams and the speedy Lynch to balance its offense.
Bob Sakamoto’s pick: Mt. Carmel
