Bret Harrison, star of the CW’s new comedy “Reaper,” says he has no restrictions about dating actresses.
“A lot of people have rules about that, and I understand why,” said the 25-year-old actor, whose girlfriend, Lauren Zelman, works for Jessica Simpson and her family. “Right now she’s in L.A. and I’m in Vancouver.”
But Harrison says he likes a lot of what people consider the “down” side of acting.
“A lot of people were questioning me. ‘Are you sure you want to take [“Reaper”]?’ “You’re moving to Vancouver?” I said, ‘Well, Tom Hanks and Al Pacino and all these guys, do you think they turn down roles because they’re shooting in Brazil?’ “
“That’s one of the coolest things about this business,” he said. “A couple of months ago I was shooting in New Orleans with Burt Reynolds on a poker movie. ‘All right! I’m in New Orleans for the month. How much fun is this?’
“Hopefully you get to be like Jack Nicholson — ‘Hey, if the L.A. Lakers are playing, it’s my day off.’ “
