New Sudden Fiction: Short-Short Stories From America and Beyond
Edited by Robert Shapard and James Thomas
Norton, 368 pages, 15.95 paper
The stories in this collection are so short that even the slowest of readers can finish one between bus stops. The authors — some newcomers and others well-known like Elizabeth Berg and Tobias Wolff — have written stories that are, as the editors describe, “suddenly just there, surprising, unpredictable, hilarious, serious, moving, in only a few pages.”
