Bolingbrook’s 36-13 win was about as aesthetically pleasing as a trash landfill. The Raiders (32-1), of course, will take it, as it produced a chance to defend their state title against Fenwick tonight at Redbird Arena.
For everyone else, perhaps saltines and flat soda are in order, to settle the stomach. This is especially true of Morton (31-2), which looked petrified on offense, in every sense of the word.
The Potters’ point total was the lowest ever at any level of the state tournament, as was their field goal total (three). Morton was shut out completely in the second quarter and didn’t record a field goal after the first period.
So all Bolingbrook had to do was score intermittently, and that they did, led by Mauvolyene Adams’ 10 points and Miranda Tate’s nine.
