There will be a couple of pioneers at the forefront of the Super Bowl’s opening ceremonies that take place on Monday, with Lovie Smith and Tony Dungy–the first African-American head coaches on the sideline in a Super Bowl–in attendance. But another trailblazer will host the event at the Hard Rock Live: CBS reporter Lesley Visser, the first female reporter assigned to a Super Bowl sideline. “I’m close to both coaches and very proud, as a pioneer myself, of both of them,” Visser told the South Florida Sun-Sentinel. The opening ceremonies center on a tribute to notable personalities and performers from the previous eight Super Bowls held in South Florida, including Lynn Swann, Don Shula and Earl Morrall.
