– CBS will televise its 16th Super Bowl–and its first since New England beat Carolina in 2004, when Janet Jackson’s wardrobe malfunction almost stole the show. Jim Nantz will work his first Super Bowl as play-by-play announcer, and Phil Simms will call the game.

– Peyton Manning’s bruised right thumb gave the Colts a scare Monday. But X-rays found no broken bones, and he’s expected to start against the Bears. “There’s no concerns with that at all,” Colts owner Jim Irsay said. “He’s fine.”

– Billy Joel will sing the National Anthem during the Super Bowl pregame show Feb. 4 on CBS. The Grammy award winner, who performed at the 1989 Super Bowl, will be the first to perform the song at two Super Bowls, the NFL announced.
