While owner Jerry Jones has said he expects veteran receivers Terry Glenn and Terrell Owens to return to the Cowboys in 2007, he does not expect Drew Bledsoe back. Bledsoe is due a $1 million roster bonus in March and is scheduled to count about $7.5 million against the salary cap if he returns. With Tony Romo having led the Cowboys to the playoffs, they believe they are set at quarterback. “Well, I don’t know that he’ll retire,” Jones said. “That would surprise me. But it’s probably not realistic to think that we could work something out here.” Bledsoe said late in the season that “lots of things” would go into his decision whether to stay in Dallas. He has said he would not want to finish his career as a backup.
