Eric Gordon’s not coming. Who is . . . and who could be?
Who’s still coming
– Demitri McCamey, a sturdy 6-3 point guard from St. Joseph. Rivals.com ranks him 57th.
– Bill Cole, lanky 6-9 forward from Peoria Richwoods. Cole is not ranked nationally by either Rivals.com or Scout.com.
– Mike Tisdale, a 6-11 center from Riverton. Ranked 148th nationally by Rivals.com.
Anyone else?
Of Rivals.com’s top 30 shooting guards for 2007, just five remain uncommitted orally. Only one, 6-4 Cliff Tucker of El Paso, Texas, has Illinois listed in his mix. The only uncommitted shooting guard in Scout.com’s top 30 for ’07 is Thornton’s Mustapha Farrakhan (No. 21), who isn’t currently considering Illinois but theoretically would be in line for a late run. All pipe dreams–Derrick Rose, anyone?–aren’t worth a second thought.
