Two Eastern Illinois players were honored for their play in the 21-0 victory over Southeast Missouri State on Saturday. Senior linebacker Lucius Seymour was named Ohio Valley Conference defensive player of the week and junior quarterback Cole Stinson was chosen newcomer of the week. Seymour had six solo tackles, three of them for losses, and 11 total tackles. He also had a sack, an interception and two quarterback hurries. Southeast Missouri had just 101 yards of total offense as Eastern extended its OVC winning streak to 11. Stinson, in his first start, completed 16 of 22 passes for 208 yards and three touchdowns.
