Q hit as many Fashion Focus Chicago events as we could during the 12-day event. Last week, we reported on the first several days. Here are more observations:

Glamorama

– Macy’s pulled out the stops for its Glamorama post-party guests, with red betta fishes in wall-mounted bowls, Japanese slot machines (pachinko) and a karaoke station to let guests record their own CD. No need for Beyonce to sweat it out. Well, on second thought …

– I love the ’80s. Q spotted at least three men sporting the “Miami Vice” look (T-shirt with a blazer). No sign of Crockett and Tubbs, though.

The Apparel Industry Board’s Chicago Is … Red Hot

– September in Paris: Paris Hilton’s “Stars Are Blind” played during the showing of Tennille White Chicago and Lauren Lein’s collection. Q looked around; no one was mouthing the words.

Designers of Chicago Fashion Show Presented by Macy’s

– Temperature rising. A woman sitting near Q was fanning herself during the Kent Nielsen collection. Was it the temperature, the fashions, or was it, perhaps, the hot male models?

Sister Cities’ World Fashion

– Men’s coats. A black poncholike top from Osaka, Japan, and a huge gray fur jacket from Belgrade, Serbia, warmed up the crowd, but probably not American men.

Fashion Focus final thought

– General plea to certain models: Please eat. Q will even buy you pastries. In Spain, some of you may have been turned away.
