Kate Beckinsale had some reservations before signing up to play Adam Sandler’s long-suffering spouse in “Click,” which opens Friday.

After filming began, the British beauty realized she needn’t have worried.

“I had such an amazing time on the movie,” she said. “I really did think, you know, that I might just be this sort of roaming pair of breasts that wouldn’t quite fit. You know what I mean? Everybody would be watching sports, and I’d be kind of tolerated, and then I might bend over, and it might be an event.”

Instead, Beckinsale enjoyed being part of the boys’ club atmosphere on the set and being married to Sandler, popcorn cinema’s most popular man-child.

“How was it being married to him? I thoroughly enjoyed it,” she said. “I didn’t have to take him home, I didn’t have to yell at him about going and playing golf or all of that stuff that would probably really bug me in real life if I was married to him.”

It may seem odd to find Beckinsale in a comedy since most audiences are used to watching her kill vampires or wearwolves. But after “Van Helsing” and the “Underworld” films, Beckinsale is mixing things up with “Click.”

Comedy actually isn’t that much of a stretch for Beckinsale. Much of her early successes came in lighter films such as “Much Ado About Nothing” and “Cold Comfort Farm.”
